Aggregate Industries, a subsidiary of LafargeHolcim, welcomed 1,848 members of the public to its Travilah Quarry, Rockville, as part of the Quarry Earth Day initiative. Visitors were provided with an insight into the quarry and the substances it produces.

During the event, $60,000 donations were accepted for the local community library organisation Friends of the Library Quince Orchard Chapter. In addition, 1,000 tree seedlings were given away to attendees with help from the local scout pack and boy scout troop.
